An outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has caused a severe decline in customers and social activities in Downtown Lafayette, Indiana. Parklet project focuses on revitalizing the main street local bars and restaurants. This parklet is placed in front of Black Sparrow historical building.

The key element of this project is to create an assemblable and transportable a parklet. Black sparrow parklet provides a contemporary style of the seating area harmonized with the historical building structure. The lively and warm tone of the parklet’s wood material smoothens the atmosphere around the historical building.  Parklet’s continuous shadow lines of the exterior provides this community structure's breathability, transparency, and lightweight.
